FAQ

Why Coconut Soy?

Soy and coconut are both non toxic and renewable resources. Unlike the common paraffin wax candle you see at the big box stores, soy does not release harmful toxins into the air, creating a healthier space for you and your family.

How should I care for my candle?

Soy candles are a beautiful way to add warmth and personality to your space. The best way to ensure you’re getting the most from your new candle is to try and burn your candles for a minimum of 3 hours at a time, to ensure the melt pool goes right to the edge of your jar. This prevents the “tunneling” effect that limits the life of your candle. You should also try to always trim the wick to 1/4 of an inch before each burn to ensure the flame doesn’t get too high and hot. Wooden wicks do not self trim, so every so often you may need to knock the wick down or give it a trim to prevent the flame from getting too high. Our cotton wicks are self trimming so you shouldn't have to do this as often.

 What goes into your candles?

Simple! A premium non toxic coconut soy wax blend, a locally sourced wooden wick and phthalate free fragrance or essential oils.

Why does my candle dry bumpy?

When any candle that is 100% vegetable oil cools down, you may see some bumps or bubbles on the top of your candle. This doesn’t affect the scent or lifetime of your candle at all, it’s just the nature of soy wax.

Which charity do the candle sale proceeds go to?

We will donate $1 from the sale of every candle to a variety of local and Canadian charities. Each season we will choose a charity that we feel is important and at the end of the quarter will send a lump sum donation. If you have a charity you think we should support please send us an email to let us know! Spring 2021 donations will be going to the Calgary Distress Centre.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Interac E-transfers, all major credit cards and PayPal.
